Perfect rental for enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The screened in porch allowed for relaxing in nature even during the rain. The hosts provided lots of clear communication and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even left a birthday card and gift when they learned we were celebrating my daughter's bday. We were able to relax, cook, and hike without leaving the property. My only complaint is our time wasn't long enough. We didn't want to leave but all needed to get back for work. Thank you for providing a great opportunity for celebrating life! We will be back.

Josh and Ashley are wonderful hosts! Quick response on any questions I had. The house was wonderful! I stayed at their other home a year ago. This house is very isolated with beautiful scenery. Beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is amazing. First morning I was drinking my coffee on the back porch and a flock of turkeys walked by. We visited Ash Cave and climbed the rock out back. We had lunch at Kindred Spirits. Sat on the back patio there. Good food and great atmosphere. We visited some wineries. Manchester Hill was the best. We had a wonderful time!

Space was perfect for what we needed. 3 beds can fit 6 people comfortably and having a bathroom on each floor was also nice. Traveling to the cabin it wasn’t too far out and we were thankful the roads were all paved to get there. Sometimes when it’s mainly gravel it’s hard on your car.

I booked the Wye-Oak as a surprise for my family to celebrate my Wife's birthday. Undoubtedly the best experience our family has ever had on a vacation. The Wye-Oak and its hosts made the trip unforgettable. The property is clean, beautiful, and packed with all the amenities to make you feel right at home. I'm finding it hard to put into words just how wonderful our hosts made our stay.Travelling with 3 boys, one of them a toddler, can be a challenge, but this is the first vacation where we had everything we needed, and more. When our family comes back to Hocking Hills, staying at a Chestnut property is the only option. My Wife has wasted no time telling all her friends and co-workers where they have to stay if they head to Hocking Hills.

The only thing negative we can say is that the “hiking on the property” was a little exaggerated in the listing. While it’s a lovely “hike” it’s just a short loop around the hill in the backyard. But, nonetheless, we did it and got lovely views of the trees, rock formation and the house from “above”. Other than that, the neighborhood is great, the house is clean and well appointed and the hosts were fantastic! There were 3 of us girls on a girls only getaway! We felt safe, comfortable, and right at home the entire stay! We would absolutely stay there again!

This home is exactly how it is pictured. the home was very clean and comfortable. There is a local park within a couple miles that has nice walking trails. The home is located near Hocking Hills, making this a good choice for anyone visiting the state park.

We enjoyed a lovely two night stay at this home with our college-bound twins. We enjoyed hiking in the nearby parks and relaxing in the hammock and the hot tub. The home was super clean and the large kitchen had everything we needed for our meals. We did carry-out for suppers and enjoyed dining under the lights in the screened-in porch. The hosts were super responsive and prepared us well for check in and enjoying the surrounding area. Another night or two would have been great. Thank you!

We loved everything about our stay. We are a group of moms (7 of us) and there are 33 kids between us. This weekend was all about us and our husbands kept the kids. It was fantastic, we loved it so much we plan to book for the same time again next year. The amenities were great and the place was spotless. We had plenty of room and lots to do on the property. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice getaway close to things around but still secluded.

Chestnut Retreat was absolutely beautiful! We were there for the weekend for a wedding with friends and really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean, well furnished and beautifully decorated. We had questions about getting some local food and operating the hot tub and the hosts responded immediately to all my texts. The back yard is amazing, can't say enough about how beautiful it was. I really hope to go back when I have more time to walk and explore.

The house and property was exactly as advertized. It looks just like the pictures. I loved the beauty and simplicity of the property. It was perfect for a prayerful retreat. I had an infant with me and the hosts immediately offered a crib and had it set up for us when we arrived. They were very quick to respond to any communication. Beautiful, clean home in a wonderful, peaceful, and private surrounding. The thing that stood out to us about this home was the well stocked kitchen. We come down every year for the winter hike and lug our crockpot with us, so we have a hot meal to return to after the hike. This is the first place we have ever stayed that had one! It also had a wide array of common spices and kitchen essentials that many rental homes don't have, like foil and cooking oil. I know it may not seem like much, but to this forgetful wife who loves to cook, it was amazing! They had a great stock of board games and really good Wi-fi as well! Would definitely recommend to others.

Loved our stay! The house was spacious, clean and comfy! Great kitchen to cook and gather in. The hot tub was a hit! Perfect getaway spot to relax, play cards, grill out and explore Hocking Hills. We hiked Cantwell Cliffs since it was so close. The owners were super friendly and easy to communicate with. 10/10, definitely recommend this place. We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful time for a New Year’s Eve getaway! The house is beautiful, clean, and was so perfect for a small get together. The back screened in deck with patio lights is absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to hang out. The hot tub is large and clean and the 104 degree water was perfect in the 50 degree weather! All the beds are SO comfortable. All tvs are smart tvs with an account provided for you on Hulu, Netflix, and disney plus! And live tv so we could watch the ball drop! Check in information was clear and concise and provided through text, email, and the app. We will be back!

Josh, our host was great responded quickly when we had a problem. Very small problem the amenities were great. even though it snowed the night before driveway steps and porch were cleared off even had a Christmas tree up for us. We had a great time. Looking forward to a return visit.

Wye Oak feels like you're at a beautiful and relaxing retreat. Everything was clean, cozy, and inviting. The hot tub was a great treat after spending the day out adventuring. Evenings were spent in the screened in porch, enjoying the beautiful scenery in the yard. Two of the guests have celiac disease and they made sure to remove any flour from the premises and give information on shopping and restaurants in the area that might be helpful to us. It was a great place to stay.

Super clean and cozy location! Lots of room and amenities throughout. There were some water issues in regards to running out each day of our stay due to it being well fed. Josh was super helpful with the other issues that came up as well. This would be an easy 5 star review if the water issue wasn't a thing, but its something you do need to keep an eye on. If you only have 4 or so people, this place would be perfect but the larger capacity groups may find the water issue to be more of a annoyance than we did. (Our group was pretty laid back about it, but someone else could have been very perturbed by the issue.)

I don't often travel and have never used Airbnb before and Chestnut Retreats made everything really easy. The Wye Oak is a lovely place. I would definitely visit again. I planned this getaway for my girlfriend's birthday weekend and they even went as far as leaving a nice treat and a card for her birthday. Wonderful hosts, great communication, and a beautiful secluded place to stay and I enjoyed my first ever time in a hot tub. Cheers to Chestnut Retreats!

My family stayed at Wye Oak for a weekend getaway and had a wonderful time! The host's communication was stellar, and they provided many conveniences that made for a relaxing stay.

We had our 1 year old with us. At our request, they provided a crib, pack-n-play, and a couple of baby gates which were all useful. Because the stairs have banisters, the baby gates didn't work flawlessly, but I was able to make a barrier with a gate and the suitcases that could deter baby so he would not crawl too near the top of the basement stairs.

The wifi signal was excellent. We were able to easily connect our Wyze video baby monitor, and stream music/videos on the TV. The home was exceptionally clean, and the kitchen was very well appointed (above and beyond with spices, olive oil, condiments, etc.). Upstairs, there is the master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and there is a bed in the loft. The other bedroom is in the basement with a bed and futon and also has an ensuite bathroom. The first floor is spacious and has well laid out open floor plan with a convenient third bathroom. The hottub (always my main reason for vacationing anywhere) was already heated to temperature when we arrived and easy to use. Easy to use gas grill and huge screened deck on the back of the house. Super cool/scenic back yard. We didn't use the firepit, but that's a nice extra too!

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We all stayed in and got to spend some seriously quality time with each other. Thank you Wye Oak!

Very nice! Hot tub comfortably seats 4, very clean. Fire pit area is perfect. Backyard very scenic with hills and rock formations. Back porch is lovely. House is stocked with anything you could need. Only two actual bedrooms and one loft area but a screen divider was provided for privacy, so not bad at all. Main floor bathroom only has tub and no shower but again, not a big deal. So nice and owners go over and above to welcome you!

Everything was amazing. Great location - just enough space to feel quiet and secluded, and quick drive to lots of good hikes. It was so nice having a fully stocked kitchen (including the random but helpful items in the pantry and fridge). They even provided firewood for the outdoor fire pit! We spent lots of time in the hot tub, which was amazing but does take some time to 'reheat' between sessions due to running on 110V. Very clean house and great communication from hosts. We hope to come back again in the warm months to take more advantage of the great outdoor space!

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and living room were cozy and had what we needed for our family Christmas. The kids enjoyed exploring the yard and screened in back porch. The upstairs bedroom worked well and the bed was comfortable. The sleeping loft wasn't the best fit for my small children but we made it work. We were two families traveling together so the basement suite worked well for the other family. Several drivers were a little nervous driving into the place once the turned off the main road so if you don't like narrow twisting roads be sure to come in the daylight.
